"Pleasant surprise at excellent, speedy treatment"

I have recently been under the care of the MSK (Musculoskeletal) team at Lever Chambers in Bolton and have nothing but praise for the service.

Several weeks ago I was in agony with terrible pain in my back and hips. My doctor suspected a slipped disc and referred me to the MSK team. To my surprise, I was seen within days! As I relied on someone being able to take me, I was given an appointment at a convenient time and was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time.

Every member of staff I met greeted me with a smile and put me at ease. I felt that My Doyle listened to my problems and concerns and spoke to me in layman's terms so that I understood what was causing the pain and what I could be done to help get me back on my feet.

After confirming the problem was a slipped disc, I was offered the opportunity to start Physio immediately and had my first appointment there and then!

I was then offered a treatment programme with regular one-to-one physiotherapy starting the week after.

As planned, I visited my therapist, Rebecca Scholes for the next few weeks. I felt that seeing the same person meant that we soon built up a relationship of trust and I was not having to repeat my history every time I saw someone different. Rebecca was a great help. Each appointment involved manipulation (which was sometimes quite painful but worthwhile) a review of my progress and individual exercises and goals for the next week. However, she was realistic and made me realise that I had to accept that my recovery would take longer than I had hoped. She pointed out where I had been going wrong and the effects that was having on my condition.

I have now been "promoted" to a group session at Leverhume park to continue my recovery and look at improving my fitness and back care for the long term.

I cannot praise the survive enough. I am sure I would not have got a better service if I would have paid privately and been seen in a luxury setting with tea and biscuits afterwards!

We are very pleased to hear of the positive experience and praise for the musculoskeletal team at Lever Chambers and offer thanks for the time and trouble taken, in posting these comments.

All of the staff within the team endeavour to provide a service of excellence and it is gratifying to read that service users recognise and appreciate this.
