About: West Middlesex University Hospital

To whom it may concern My name is Chandra Gupta, I had a massive fibroid inside/outside my womb which caused continuous bleeding for many months with severe abdominal pain. I was under Kingston hospital care and it took 8 months for Kingston hospital to get me on a scan and to find out the exact location of the fibroid etc. This situation of mine kept me in severe agony with heavy bleeding and I have collapsed in many occasions . My G.P. administrated pain killers to get me out of pain, but it never helped. Every time, I called in at Kingston hospital, they were postponing my scan appointment and GP also said that they cannot do anything and I have to wait. This terrible state of pain caused me severe mental agony and depression. I was pushed into a situation where I could no longer take care my daughter who is 8 years old. I went into such a depressed situation that I couldn't care for anything. Fortunately I was recommended by one of my friends to go to west Middlesex University Hospital. In my utter desperate situation, I walked into this hospital without an appointment and got to the Gynecologist department and begged with the receptionist if I could see a doctor. While I was talking to the receptionist, a consultant walked pass me. She immediately spoke to me and on inquiry she realised what I was going through and read all my previous scan reports and she immediately wanted me to speak to the GP and get a referral letter immediately to west middlesex hospital. She explained any delays could cause serious repercussions and I could collapse any moment since my hemoglobin was very low. On the same day, when I returned home, I collapsed and my sister rushed me to the GP and got a referral letter to West Middlesex Hospital. On the following day, on my visit to West Middlesex Hospital with Referral letter, I was taken to Gynecologist department and seen by a nurse. She was so polite and read my referral letter and immediately made arrangements to be seen by a Doctor on the following day itself. On 05/11/2014 I came at 9.30am and I was promptly seen by a doctor who so gentle and kind, went through all my notes and examined myself. Even at this point I was profusely bleeding and was in unbearable pain. The doctor was so gentle and gave me enough time to settle in, examined me carefully with help of a care assistant. She too was so polite and handled me so gently knowing my agony. With her support the doctor was able to examine me properly and thoroughly. On careful examination the doctor found the fibroid massive and advised that it should be taken off soon and gave me the earliest appointment on 02nd Feb. Meanwhile, she gave me pain killers to cope with. Also, she recommended an injection that will help the fibroid to shrink. After, I was kept under the care of nurse in-charge.
