My brother tried to kill himself. His attempted suicide was the beginning of his journey.
He hasn't been a willing patient, refusing his meds and driving the crisis team and CPN to dispair. No one listened to the family, our word was irrelevant. He has a personality disorder and could show one face to them and another to us. 3 hospital visits and 2 sections later, we are quickly going back to square one.
In the most recent hospital visit he was told he would need the injected medication (I'm sorry, I cannot recall the name) for life. He could finally hold a conversation, talk coherently and laugh. He was starting to plan for the future.
Less than a month later his GP and CPN said he could come off the meds. He is now reverting back to his more aggressive self, plagued with voices and depression.
Why does no one read the notes?
