"lip surgery experience"

I was referred by my dentist because of a dark mark on my lower lip which was causing me no trouble. I did not consult my doctor about this before the referral by my dentist.

The mark was inspected and I had an appointment made for it to be removed and sent for a biopsy. This was done efficiently, with 3 stitches put in my lip, which was very straightforward. A few days later I had a 'crop' of cold-sores develop around the wound. After 12 days the area is much better, the wound healed and the scar hardy visible. I still have to get rid of the last few cold-sores! Results of the biopsy were explained fully with no further treatment necessary. But I must wear sun-block on my lips!
