My congratulations to Warrington A & E for the service and prompt action when I was admitted a couple of weeks ago with severe food poisoning on a Friday night. After suffering incredible pain for three days and nights plus the indignity of having to live in the bathroom I could take no more pain and rang 111. I am 70 and live alone and was really frightened by the worsening pain. The ambulance arrived quickly and the staff were fantastic. On arrival the ambulance nurse stayed with me for 2 minutes then I was quickly admitted to a special room with its own facilities. (Clearly designed to manage this type of illness). Within 5 minutes the young doctor had identified my condition and instructed the nurse to put me on two drips. Within what seemed like only15 minutes the pain had started to lessen and I knew I was in safe hands. Thanks to great ambulance staff, fantastic nursing and a young doctor who was exemplory in diagnosing and checking my condition. The next day I was fit enough to leave with special medication. Excellent! Congratulations Warrington Hospital and the NHS this service was outstanding!
