"Next of kin not informed of dying patient"

About: Castle Hill Hospital

It's a challenge giving stars to a hospital that did not try to inform the next of kin or contacts about the imminent death of a patient (because there was nothing more they could do and had know it long enough to inform). The sympathetic Bereavement Centre would on the other hand get all my stars. My old mum died a year ago and you get over it, but this sticks. 'She's settling in fine' I was told on the phone (I was two hours away by plane). This was trash. The hospital knew very well what the outcome could be and should have told me. I was just six miles away the night she died .
