"A quality healthcare provider"

I have only been treated in hospital on a very few occasions, thankfully, but this visit to Halton was the best I have experienced and that includes a private hospital. From the moment I arrived I was treated with kindness and respect from a very professional group of people. Everyone concerned with my treatment introduced themselves and explained in great detail what was going to happen during my stay. My surgeon spent time with me after the operation to provide me with guidance as to how to deal with everyday matters after surgery. He was excellent as were his team in the operating theatre. They were both kind and humorous and put me completely at ease ahead of the procedure. After the operation, my nurses checked on me every 30 minutes or so and went to great lengths to make sure I was comfortable and free of pain. In the event, I had no pain whatsoever and have not experienced any on the week following my operation. I was in and out the same day and I have felt really well in the week following. The whole atmosphere in the hospital and in my ward was one of calm and quiet and efficient care, exactly what is needed for patient well being. At a time when the media appear to gloat every time that someone points finger at the NHS for mistakes that occur, I feel it is time that someone highlighted the hundreds of thousands of procedures that go well and where the patient has a healthy outcome. The good far outweighs the unfortunate and makes the NHS an organisation to be proud of and one that is still the envy of the world. Thank you Halton for taking care of me.
