"I have had three appointment cancellations at two hospitals"

About: Nelson Hospital St Helier Hospital Sutton Hospital

(as the patient),

Cystoscopy was done at the end of July to investigate blood in urine and a complete ultrasound scanning was done in Aug. Results of scanning revealed stones in bladder and kidneys. I was asked by the hospital that performed the scanning to ask the hospital that performed the cystoscopy to give me an urgent appointment for treatment.

It took me four days of chasing the hospital on phones and involvement of my GP before I was told the appointment date on telephone. Two days later I received three letters; two from one hospital, one confirming the appointment of 10 Sept, second letter cancelling it and the third letter by the hospital performed the scanning giving me the appointment for the beginning of Nov.

So the struggle to get an early appointment started again and I was told by my GP's surgery that my appointment for 10 Sept. has been reinstated. When I arrived at the hospital, I was told that it has been cancelled. My strong protest resulted in getting another one for today at the different hospital (Most inconvenient). But I went and after waiting for over an hour, I was told the appointment is cancelled because the doctor had to go to another hospital on emergency duty, and we will inform you of another date.

So far three appointments given and cancelled how can I trust the NHS Trust that it will not happen again. In the meantime I have to rely on antibiotics prescribed by my GP
