(as a friend),

I was with my friend and we had to wait 3 hours to be seen to.

Other patients who were there were waiting even longer than me; someone could have died in that time and it would be your fault.

I think you need to speed up the system, it is terrible. It could be you dying one day. Sort it out!

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the situation that was experienced on this occasion in the Emergency Department. Due to the nature of the Emergency Department being very unpredictable, we are continually striving to improve the service for all people that present - from the critically ill to those with less life threatening conditions. We have re-introduced Triage which is a means to assess the clinical priority of all patients to assist us to see people in a timely manner that is appropriate for the individual's clinical need. This process is being monitored regularly and has improved since the implementation with further training of staff ongoing.
