my mum was addmitted sat eving with infected stomach ulcer. she went to ward 101 where she had a needle in the back of her hand so she could have a drip - it came out mon morning and had a realy sore and swollen hand we found out next day after a sleepless night that it was infected and she is now on 500 mg of antibiotics 4 times a day. we belive it was a dirty uncovred needle that did this.
