How can it be economical for and Ambulance to pick up at Crossens then go Via Marshside road, Coast Road, back on to Lord Street at the Duke St Roundabout end then down Lord St. to Manchester road to pick up the second patient, then to Kew to pick up 3rd patient who where all going to Broadgreen Hospital then for it to go via Gilford Road into Aisdale, then Formby Bypass into Crosby. Then to Waterloo, Derby road Bootle, then left into Millars Bridge onto Queens Drive then Broad green.
A journey that took nearly 2 hours from the first pick up at Ribble Avenue Crossens to the final destination at Southport and Formby District general. Is it any wonder that the N.H.S. is short of money when Ambulance drivers who are local people are riding around on circular tours instead of going the obvious and direct route.
