"Everything about the procedure seemed rushed"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Neurology

(as the patient),

I attended the QMC for an MRI scan to investigate a possible TIA. The best thing about my treatment was the speed of referral to the neurologist. However, there could have been more detailed information in laymen terms of the final diagnosis. I felt like I was on a high speed production line. Everything about the procedure seemed rushed.

My initial minor stroke was at the end of May 2009. I saw my GP and was immediately referred to Neurology department and was seen immediately. The examination/consultation was for a possible TIA. I was advised that I should need a brain scan and would receive a letter. However, I heard nothing for a month and only after a telephone call by my GP to the hospital and further waiting was I finally seen and had the scan at the end of July. It took another phone call to the hospital before I finally received a letter dated 19th August. This time scale seems some what excessive.
