"I was given every consideration throughout my stay"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I was recently a patient on ward B3, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. I was admitted when complaining of chest pains. Several doctors and nurses examined me during the course of the day. I was seen by a consultant in the late evening, who diagnosed a blood clot on the lung, and administered an injection in the stomach to thin the blood. The following day I was given a further ECG, chest x-ray and MRI scan. The results indicated that the clot had dispersed and the following morning I was discharged. Throughout my stay I was given every consideration. All the staff, doctors, nurses, ward staff, porters, kitchen staff worked willingly and tirelessly, often under great pressure. I was moved on the second night to ward C24, where equally I was very well treated. The only complaint was the shortage of car parking facilities, which resulted in my husband being unable to park the car and accompany me to the ward, nor to collect me. Altogether a pleasant ad life saving experience.
