"Care of my father on CCU Ward at Durham"

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

My father spent around a week on CCU ward in January 2015. The staff there were fantastic and cared for my Dad with dignity and respect, they were also brilliant with our family. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they could not have been more helpful in what was a very difficult time. Special thanks to two particular nurses on the Ward, who were particularly outstanding and had the most fantastic bedside manner. My father sadly passed away in the Freeman Hospital shortly after and unfortunately he was not treat with the same respect as he had been at Durham. Although this was disappointing, it made us appreciate the excellent staff at Durham even more.

Dear Faye, Thank you for providing feedback on your father's recent visit to the University Hospital of North Durham and the Coronary Care Unit. I am very pleased to hear that you had a positive experience and that you are happy with the care he received and please accept our condolences for your loss. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your very kind comments at a sad time for your family will be shared with the Matron and the ward sister to pass on to the staff. I know they will be encouraged by your positive comments. Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
