It is several years since I was an inpatient at Rotherham District General Hospital.
Previously I had been a private patient in Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield for a knee replacement. My experience in Thornbury was, of course, more comfortable (single room, own bathroom, better food, supervision by a consultant). However, I felt that overall the treatment in Rotherham was of high standard but lacking the “extras” of Thornbury.
The surgical and medical treatment was of a high standard but on an impersonal level. As an outpatient over a period of several years, I find that, usually, my appointment time is not adhered to and I have to wait for varying periods of time after the time given, but the treatment is of a high standard.
