When my mother died recently I feared a messy episode of my sometimes severe bipolar disorder. I lived with my Mum and she was my carer, she meant the world to me and the initial shock of her sudden loss made me feel high. I immediately sought the help of the doctor and his Community Mental Health Team at the Vista Locality Centre in Newton-le-Willows on Merseyside.
He was so understanding and kind, he gave me the confidence and courage to deal with my illness amid the grief I was experiencing. My medication was increased and I was assigned a team member to befriend me while I faced up to the daunting prospect of life without Mum. I was given rapid access to the doctor and the team which meant I could be seen at any time without an appointment.
It is reassuring to know I am under the care of such a wonderful doctor and mental health team. I know Mum would be delighted to see I am getting the help I need.
"Top marks for Mental Health Team at Vista Locality Centre"
