"Mental Health - Crisis Support Team Home Visits"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as a relative),

My father recently needed daily home visits from the ENE ICS team at St Mary’s House, Leeds (Leeds & York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust). My whole family were really impressed with all of the members of the team and especially Lesley who visited several times.

Lesley’s approach was outstanding and made an enormous difference to the whole family (dad, mum and me). She took the time to get to know all of us as individuals and quickly built up tremendous rapport with everyone. Her positive and upbeat attitude and sense of humour lifted everyone’s spirits. My father would normally be a little reticent about new mental health teams coming to see him at home and would usually be apprehensive before visits. However, he really warmed to Lesley’s approach and was soon very much at ease with her, trusted her and looked forward to her coming to see him. I’m sure that this will have aided his recovery.

Lesley also offered tremendous support and practical advice in a really constructive manner to my mum and me as carers.

The whole family really valued Lesley’s input. We felt she went the extra mile for us and really cared that we got the best outcome possible. She was exceptional and we really appreciated her support.

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the East North East (ENE) Intensive Community Service (ICS), and Lesley in particular. Our approach at ENE ICS is to get to know people as individuals, to build up a good rapport, and to offer treatment meaning people don't have to be admitted to hospital.

I am pleased that Lesley's outstanding approach, her positive and upbeat attitude and sense of humour, helped your father to build up trust in Lesley which aided his recovery and made an enormous difference to you as a family.

We really appreciate you taking the time to post this regarding your families experience and wish you all the best for the future.

Best Wishes,

The ICS team at St Mary's House
