Following a fall, my partner who is in his sixties, dislocated his shoulder and attended the Royal Blackburn Hospital at 2.00a.m. on a Sunday morning. We expected to have to wait since there were already several people in the Urgent Care Unit and we had heard bad reports about the service. Infact, we were seen within minutes of arriving, he had an Xray without waiting and were treated in A & E by helpful, pleasant staff. We left at 5.30 in the morning but our time was spent having treatment and not hanging about. We were most impressed since the hospital has had such bad press recently. Congratulations to all staff concerned, our experience was traumatic but made much better by caring staff.
