"Mixed experience at UCLH"

About: University College Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

In August I had a colonoscopy at the UCLH. Excellent all round. All the staff were related and forth coming and considerate of me and my needs. NHS at its best. Many thanks. However, in April and June went I went I had the complete opposite to the chaos that surrounds appointments and consultations that precede getting to the above. Why is it that five people seem to have been given the same appointment time? Interesting that I wasn’t given this form at that stage.

I am pleased to read that you had a good experience when you recently attended for a colonoscopy.

I am sorry that you found the Outpatient system chaotic. The Trust is currently looking at ways to reduce overbooked clinics across all specialities. As well as this, the GI Division is working directly with the Outpatients Department to ensure that when over bookings are necessary, they are carefully managed.

Thank you for your comments.
