"Day surgery - Gallbladder removal"

About: Hexham General Hospital

What a fantastic Hospital! I had my Gallbladder removed on 11th February in the Day Unit. I arrived at 12 noon and was in the operating theatre at 1.30pm! From walking through the doors i was put at ease. Never having had surgery before I was very nervous but the staff were fantastic. At 5.30pm I was back in the car on my way home to Carlisle. I just can't thank them enough. My local hospital has its fair share of problems and bad press and they could learn such a lot about patient care from this gem of a hospital. Thank you all so much. My husband was very impressed with the chicken korma and chips from your cafe, that he managed to put away whilst I was in the operating theatre too. Thank you all.

Response from Hexham General Hospital

Dear Joanne, What a lovely review ! many thanks for taking the time to post it. It is great to hear that you found everything you needed at Hexham - an efficient service provided by warm and effective staff, that's just the way we want it to be. I hope your recovery has continued to go well at home. No doubt your husband was delighted to have you back home so quickly - I will also pass on his review of the chicken curry to our busy catering staff - they'll be pleased to know we could feed him well whilst he was waiting for you. with all best wishes, Annie
