"Breast clinic - fabulous"

About: Guy's Hospital

I've been under the care of the Breast clinic for many months now, pre surgery and post surgery. I have to say that my experience has been nothing but fantastic. At this stage I've probably encountered pretty much every surgeon, registrar and Breast care nurse and they are all great. I've been treated with such respect, compassion and dignity. Yes there can be a long wait sometimes but I know from personal experience that this is because they take the time with you when you are in with them, and they will squeeze you into clinic when you really need to see them, e.g post surgery. You can see all the staff are constantly flat out and the wait has never personally bothered me. It's worth it for the care and personal service you receive. Even post surgery my family commented on how personable the staff were. They hadn't encountered consultants before who would interact with their patients like that, share a joke etc. I really appreciate all the care that's been provided to me by the Breast unit/clinic and all I can say is please keep doing what you are doing! The level of expertise and the standard of my mastectomy/reconstruction has really astounded me!

The Service Manager responsible for the Breast Clinic was delighted to read your comments. She has made sure that all of the staff groups you have mentioned – medical and nursing staff – have been made aware. As you have noted in your comments, the staff work very hard to treat patients with care and compassion, as well as providing the best clinical care. It is a huge boost for staff to read feedback such as yours so thank you very much for taking the time to share it.
