I attended the hospital and the doctor asked me why I was there and what my diagnosis was!
I was taken aback as that was the purpose of my visit as outlined in a letter received from another doctor who, I may add I haver never seen but had outlined the findings from my recent MRI. But no mention of the MRI results or explanation of what was going on with my TLE was mentioned at this appointment. My temporal lobe epilepsy was originally diagnosed in 2002 and back then the neurology service wasn't good I remember appointment being cancelled but the initial examination was much more extensive than this time around.
I have had 2 appointments at the outpatients clinc in 2014 and I was not impressed by either the initial appointment prior to the MRI was rather rushed the the physical examination was very short did not resemble the one I had in 2002 and I did get the impression that the doctor wasn't listening much. And as mentioned above the 2nd appointment left me frustrated and rather tearful I have depression.
It didn't seem to me that the doctor read my notes. I might just as well picked up the medication from my GP. ! Living with my temporal lobe epilepsy is like being in the twilight zone and so were my visits to neurology outpatients.
