"Worried daughter, elderly mother in Cumberland Infirmary"

About: Cumberland Infirmary / Older people's healthcare

(as the patient),

My mother of 82 years old was taken to A & E yesterday because she had fallen again. It turns out that she is black & blue so they have kept her in again (few weeks ago spent 5 weeks there for same thing).

She is diabetic and needs thyroxin, pain killers etc. Hospital was told all this. When we visited today p.m. she had not been given insulin, thyroxin or any medication. We asked why, were told the doctor hadn't made the list up yet.

They are going to leave it till tomorrow before giving her any insulin so she won't get too much! They said they will keep an eye on her blood sugar levels. Gave her paracetamol. She cannot control her bladder any more either and is left in damp nightie. Feel this is terrible care - anybody got any suggestions as to what I should do?

Also do not want her sent home again as she obviously can't cope on her own, needs to go into a nursing home but don't know what steps to take about getting this sorted.
