About: Westmorland General Hospital / Langdale Unit

(as a relative),

The staff on the Langdale Unit were very accommodating as my fiancé was put on a ward mostly filled with elderly patients. He was given a room on his own which was a lovely thought. The only downside was the alcohol gel at the entrance was empty on one visit but other ones were available down the corridor and this was refilled on telling someone. Many thanks for your kindness.

I was very pleased to read your positive and supportive comments about the care your fiancé received whilst on the Langdale Unit and I will take great pleasure in feeding back your comments to all members of the team.

Thank you also for highlighting the issue of the empty alcohol gel dispenser. Hand washing is something we take very seriously and we endeavour to ensure suitable facilities are provided. I am particularly grateful to you therefore for reporting the matter at the time.

Thank you for taking the time to make a posting, and it is very useful to get feedback about our unit. Any feedback we take very seriously and use in a constructive way to strive to improve patient care and our services overall.

Cleanliness and regular hand washing is something we take very seriously in order to reduce hospital acquired infections.
