"A&E Visit 14/02/2015"

About: Leighton Hospital

I visited A&E on Saturday (14/2/2015) at around 2pm with a swollen ankle which I wanted to ensure wasn't broken. I was seen within an hour by a very competent and personable triage nurse who kept me informed on what was happening and what he suspected my injury was throughout my consultation. I was x-rayed quickly and then was allowed to see the x-rays where the nurse explained in detail what they showed and what it meant. My sprained ankle was strapped, I was given excellent discharge advice and I was back home within 2 hours. The service was fantastic, not only because the medical treatment I ws received was spot-on but also because every member of staff I dealt with was polite, friendly and informative. My dad is a GP and was with me at the time but we didn't tell the staff that as dad wanted me to be treated without bias. He was also impressed with the level of treatment and service I received. If there's any way that this can be fedback to the staff I saw, particularly the triage nurse, that would be great.

Thank you so much for taking the time to add your fantastic feedback to NHS Choices. I am delighted that you had such a positive experience and that the nurse who cared for you explained your treatment so effectively. I shall ensure your feedback is shared with the staff you saw as you have requested. I hope you recover well from your sprained ankle. Best wishes Jayne Hartley, Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality
