Previously had bad experiences at this hospital, turned away many times after 4 hrs wait with no help. On this occasion things were better, in that I got seen and some tests were done, and I wasn't mistreated in any way. I was given a fan when needed, curtain pulled around for dignity to change. Bloods taken straight away, and got to a ward quickly. However the bad points were bad, these are, the only hygienic blood test that was taken was by one staff member who went out of her way to wear gloves and clean hands etc (as it should be). I had 16 more bloods in ward which were all unhygienic, no hands washed between patients when taken blood, no gloves worn, worse, staff that had been doing other jobs and seeing other patients then came straight over and touched my open wounds which were still bleeding with no handwashing, gloves etc and sticking needles in me. No care infecting patients. In fact never saw any staff member partake in any hygiene, hand washing etc the wards are so sweltering hot, I felt like I was going to pass out, it made me feel more poorly I was being accessed for a blood clot, staff told me they would not give me the ct scan needed because I said it dye made me sick, and they said they didn't want to waste a bed with me being sick. I told them I could take anti sickness I had pre prescribed. they refused gave me a different scan, when came back low probability , but sent me home with no further tests or investigations and told to take painkillers without finding out cause or doing other investigations. this is bad, because now wondering if clot elsewhere in my body as vision went and couldnt speak properly since leaving hospital, and can get no medical help for it. gp not get to see. they should have done a ct scan. I need more help from them. they also walked up and said 'we re going to give you an injection'. they don't explain what the injection is, what its for or why, and didnt like me questioning, what is this for. dr then dishonest and made something up saying 'it came back 200 plus ' . I thought that unlikely, and had to actually ask to see my test results to get honesty from drs. They weren't bothered in giving patients correct information. staff need to wear name badges cant identify them I had queried a type of treatment, and they made it known they didn't like this. I had an a and e practioner suddenly pull my curtain back, telling me off, 'you're difficult' she said. I wasn't at all, im a reserved quiet person, I just asked questions about treatment ! Staff need to listen to patients, perform tests needed, not deny them as it makes it difficult for staff, and not discharge people when still problems. not know how to get help.
