Collingtree Ward is not the most peaceful place but the Staff all deserve medals for the effort they put into making my stay as pleasant as possible. Having been extremely ill I was eventually transferred to the Ward although I don't remember this. As I became more aware of my surroundings I found myself in a separate room. At first, this was very frightening. I didn't know where I was or why. My family tell me that the Staff tried very hard to overcome my complete lack of understanding and, very gradually, they succeeded. I was not the easiest patient to contend with. I was ill, I was in pain all the time, and all I wanted was to go home. Collingtree's Staff did their very best to get me through my stay despite the enormous pressures under which they worked. I have nothing but praise for them from Ancilliary Staff through Nursing Staff to Doctors. I am home now. Thank you NGH.
