I visited Basingstoke A&E with a facial injury and did expect the wait of about 4 hours given it was a Sunday evening. Was Treated well and have no complaints about the staff who I feel work very hard, with little help from the public!.This leads me to my only complaint I believe the hospital should look into only allowing the patient and one other into the A&E unless its a real emergency. It seemed to me that some people think its a day out! There was a family of 5 there because the kid had a littl, and I mean little cut on his leg. Get a grip its not going to fall off. I think about 20% of the people in there were waiting to be seen. Most people do not want to be there at all, why would you want to sit around for 4 hours waiting for nothing. They talk about bed blocking they should think more about seat blocking! Sitting there like its the end of the road because they broke a nail. I have no medical training what so ever but I would of sent home 50% of them and charged them for time waisting. At the end of the day time counts and if there is a que with 4 time waisters and 1 serious condition it's the laiter that missis out on what could be vital seconds. That's not forgetting there 12 family members clogging the place up so it looks like maheem even when its not. The NHS gets slagged off a lot but I feel the general public have a lot to awnser for! Course slag the public off loose votes! Simple.
