"A credit to your organisation"

About: NHS 111

(as a parent/guardian),

I just want to express my sincere thanks and praise to your staff at the 111 service.

My 12 year old autistic son had a high fever type illness for 36 hours.

Having taken him to my GP on the Monday morning and he diagnosing a viral illness. We carried on with antipyretic

By late Monday night, he suddenly deteriorated vomiting, delirious and writhing in pain. Due to his language problems he couldn't tell me what hurt or how he felt

I called your service, spoke to a triage person, who took our details, was kind, sympathetic and efficient and said a doctor would call us back

The doctor did so, again, polite, professional. Sympathetic, especially as my son was far too ill, floppy, nauseous to come to NCH. A call out was arranged.

They arrived within 2 hours(the time we were quoted)

She was kind, had a lovely caring manner with my son and I. Diagnosed his tonsillitis efficiently and provided his antibiotics immediately. So, we could begin treatment that night.

I am pleased to say, he's back to normal now, but quite a bit thinner, but we are working on that.

Can I just say that we hear so many bad things about our health service.

Your team was a credit to your organisation and I can't thank them enough
