"Surgery and chemotherapy"

About: Leighton Hospital

I was admitted in the summer via A&E in the summer, emergency surgery the following day then a week in ward 13. The experience although frightening was made so much better by the care and professionalism from all involved in my care, from consultant to ward to follow up chemotherapy the treatment and support has been second to none. I have just finished my chemotherapy course and woull also like to thank the Macmillan unit for all their care and support, all in all an experience I would rather have avoided but made so much better by the brilliant people at Leighton

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your feedback on NHS choices. It is very good to hear that you felt well cared for and that the staff who looked after you were professional. We know how frightening it can be for patients when they suddenly become unwell. We do hope that you are on the road to recovery and we will continue to support you when you need us. We will make sure that your lovely comments are relayed back to all of the Team on Ward 13 and the Macmillan Unit as they always appreciate hearing positive feedback from our patients. Delyth Owen – Clinical Nurse Manager, Cancer Services Sandra Glover – Surgical Matron for Ward 13
