"Acoustic Neuroma Removal"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

I had to have an operation to remove an acoustic neuroma on the 12th December 2014. I cannot recommend this hospital highly enough from being rushed in as an emergency on the 30th Sept 2014 to neurology ward where they diagnosed what was causing me to have severe sickness , loss of balance etc. After I had my MRI scan they diagnosed the tumour. I was put on the list for surgery and it was removed on the 12th dec. I received the best care in the Hallamshire that I could of had anywhere, the nursing staff, care workers, physio's and the therapy services, the staff that served the food, the cleaners and Ward Clerks, Theatre Staff and anyone I've forgotten were all fantastically caring and excellent at their jobs. I can't thank them enough and now I am getting the same treatment as an Out Patient. I am sick of hearing bad reports of the NHS and I think this hospital should be used as a beacon of care and excellence that we are privileged to have in the country and I will tell anyone who wants to listen, as would my partner and all our families would confirm.
