My son was burned with some hot water, my neighbour drove me to the Wishaw Emergency Department. My son was in so much pain, his skin was blistered and peeling, he was distraught, as was I.
We were taken straight through into a children's room, and met instantly with a team of doctors and nurses. They were calm, focused, reassuring, skilled and informative. They took control. My beautiful baby boy was screaming with pain I could not take from him, that broke my heart.
Within minutes of our arrival, he was given strong analgesia, they observed it took effect, his burns we're being cooled, I cuddled him throughout and within ten minutes my baby was calmer, his pain was eased.
I have no words strong enough to express my thanks and gratitude to each of the wonderful team which cared for my son that day, I will never ever forget what you did for me and my son, you are amazing. I needed your department that day and we were not let down, there is nothing that could have been done any better.
We had a referral over to Yorkhill, and transferred promptly to another amazing care facility. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you x
