"The wait in A and E, Southmead is unbearable."

Took a patient into A and E with a head injury at 1130pm. Despite it being almost empty, we are still waiting 3 hours later to be seen. It would be nice if someone could at least keep us informed as to what the delay is/ how long it is likely to take, but no one seems to care. I thought hospitals were a place were ill/ sick people went to get well. You are not supposed to feel worse on leaving as when you went in. The whole system at A and E needs to be improved, this department are putting patients health at serious risk.
