I was seen by consultant begin inning of December 2014 and had op on 17th in Tenby Day Unit. It was very relaxed and efficient. Op went very well and I was well covered with pain med as necessary. I had very little pain then or in the weeks since. I was discharged on 3rd day after op but felt could have had more detailed information on wound care and instructions to follow up with nurses at local surgery. Due to Christmas and New Year surgery closures I left it rather late seeking help for slight break down in the wound and had to have 2 weeks antibiotics and visits to nurse for dressings. Overall I was very pleased with all the staff and care received at GEH. It was obvious however the nurses were under a lot of pressure and needed more staff. Being nosey I quite enjoyed hearing other patients consultations on the ward, staff seem to think the curtains are soundproof! But it helped with the boredom. Overall, well done to all involved.
