2014 was the year when the services of the York Hospital Trust were very much needed by my family - in particular my elderly patents whose age has finally caught up with them from a health perspective. Various departments have been involved in dealing with their health requirements and in all instances in all departments the treatment they received has been absolutely outstanding. Empathy, understanding, listening skills, consideration, good manners, patience, respect and friendliness were all there in abundance. A traumatic and frightening time for both my patents, was made so much easier for them thanks to the first class attitude of all the staff they came into contact with. Not just the Doctors, consultants and nurses that dealt with my parents, but also the staff on the front desk in reception, the porters, the security staff, the ambulance drivers and paramedics and the chirpy chap in the disabled car park area, who stands out there on these cold winter days trying to find you a vacant spot. Our experience as a family is that this attitude is engrained within this Trust and every effort is made by the leadership of the Trust to put into practice what they preach. I have fed back my positive comments to the Trust and have had acknowledgement they have been received, not just from the Trust itself but from staff members themselves, which is very gratifying. As another very satisfied patient stated on this forum, we are indeed very lucky to have such a superb service on our doorstep. Please accept my family's sincere thanks for all the superb support they received last year and indeed into 2015 - it has never been and will never be taken for granted.
