I had to have a joint replaced in my finger. The surgeon mis-aligned the joint so it was unusable and it became infected.
Only after 3 weeks and a couple of visits back to the clinic has another surgeon (mine is on holiday till September and then again in October!) decided that I should have antibiotics and have the operation redone.
As the original surgeon is away, as mentioned earlier, this will not take place until the end of October.
On a more positive note the nurses in the clinic were lovely and it was them who made sure that another surgeon acted to help me with my problem. I have been in pain and discomfort for at least 3 weeks. Hopefully this can be successfully resolved.
Question: how come these surgeons get so much holiday, especially to the detriment of their patients? What are we paying for?
