"Very caring staff but extremely poor communication"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

I was admitted to A&E for severe kidney pain to which I was assessed and was recommended I stay overnight on Antibiotic drip. I was satisfied that this was the result they had come to after my assessment so I trusted staff judgement and stayed overnight. I was told that I would be scheduled in for an ultrasound in the morning. At approximately 7-8:00am I was lightly awoken to lights and the invitation to chose a light breakfast. Very friendly staff and very professional. I was informed at approximately half past 8 that I had been booked in for a 10minute ultrasound at approximately 10 o'clock. However, 10 o'clock came and went, so did 12:00, 2:00, 4:00pm.... By 5:30pm I just has to ask what was going on as I had prior engagements to be at a friends birthday at 6:00pm. I was then informed (without an explanation or apology for the delay) that 'the doctor will see me now' and off I went for a 30second scan only to show all was well. When i arrived with said ultrasound doctor he explained to me that he had been waiting for me all morning but no member of staff knew where I was! Surely my details would have been on the system to say I was taking up a bed in the A&E overnight ward..I was just shocked to find that I had been sitting there wasting my time and a bed all because there was no communication between staff.
