"Ultrasound scan"

Late Tuesday Jan 27 due to lower left side abdominal pain, NHS 111 referred me to Whipps Cross and arranged an appointment for 11.40 pm when to see a GP there and the service was excellent. I was diagnosed with a suspected hernia and referred to my GP for a referral back for an urgent ultra sound scan. The Hospital GP could not refer me direct. The earliest I could see my GP was Thursday pm Jan 29 and my GP gave me a referral letter to take to the ultrasound dept at Whipps Cross where I would be seen without an appointment but might have to wait. My wife drove me to the hospital first thing Friday Jan 30 and, still in some discomfort handed in the referral letter to the receptionist at the Ultrasound Dept but was then sent away and told the letter had to be 'checked', for what was not explained, and told I would be contacted with an appointment. Its now Feb 10 and I have heard nothing. No one has written or rung. Fortunately the pain has subsided, but at the time it was severe and had it continued, I guess I'd have had to go to A&E. It does not inspire confidence!
