"Fantastic treatment for fractured neck of femur at the West Mid"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital / Accident and emergency West Middlesex University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Nearly a year ago, I fell and fractured the neck of the femur, a condition I had never heard of.

I was taken to the West Middlesex Hospital and although A&E took quite a while, once I got to the ward everything was fantastic.

The op was the next day, putting long screws in to hold the fracture. Although I am well into my seventies, the bones were strong enough to hold the screws as I am very fit and go to the gym on a regular basis. I stayed in hospital 5 days and was extremely well looked after in every respect.

Three months later I was back at the gym and can't thank the surgeon, doctors and nurses enough. They all said how important it is to excercise as much as possible and keep fit.
