"Ward E3 review-February 2015"

The doctors,nurses, healthcare workers and all staff on this ward are to be congratulated on the excellent care my mother received while a patient on this ward. Sadly she died but I was kept informed immediately before her death of the problems and therefore I was prepared and able to say goodbye. Perhaps I could have been offered more information when she transferred to the ward from acute care ward.She was washed and changed daily and the electric bed and air mattress that she was given from the start meant she was comfortable to the end of her life. They did everything possible to try to get her through the illness and never gave up despite her 92 years. I will always be grateful to the staff on this ward who have such a difficult job.At a time when there is so.much for criticism of the NHS I would not have a word said against the hard working and caring staff on this ward. Finally a big thank you to the.ward manager who broke the news of my mother's death in such a sensitive and caring way. Thank you staff of ward E3.
