"Disgraceful service. If they were a company they..."

About: Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital

Having moved to this area 2 years ago I have recently had to use this, my new doctors, and have been appalled at the level of service. Working in London I found it very difficult to get an appointment to see a doctor - instead could only get a phone conversation with a nurse. And then, when I had to go for blood test, had to wait over 75 mins to do so. Surely it should be a priority of the NHS to keep its working population fit and able - instead, we have a service that makes it difficult to get an appointment when you do work.

We are sorry to hear that you are not happy about the service you have received from the Memorial Medical Centre GP Practice. Please note this is not a service provided by Kent Community Health NHS Trust. For issues relating to the GP service you can raise a complaint directly with the practice or with NHS England using the contact details below: • Mr Sean Hart, Practice Business Manager - 01795 477764 • NHS England, Complaints Manager - PO Box 16738, Redditch, B97 9PT Email: england.contactus@nhs.net Tel: 0300 311 22 33 We do however provide blood testing at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital, which is next door to the GP practice, and clearly a wait of 75 minutes is not satisfactory. The blood tests are on a first come first served basis, and we normally have three phlebotomists working each morning, and they take on average 50 blood tests each. Priority will be given to patients who are fasting before a blood test, and on occasions this can make the waiting time longer for other patients. We are sorry that when you attended the waiting time was much longer than usual. If you want to discuss your experience further to help us look into what happened, please contact our Customer Care Team on 0300 123 1807 or email: kcht.cct@nhs.net Best wishes Customer Care Team Kent Community Health NHS Trust www.kentcht.nhs.uk
