The experiences I have had with my son have been an accumulation over the last year since he was diagnosed as having dyspraxia which is a motor co ordination problem that causes him to have problems in school with writing and PE and also at home with using his Knife and fork etc.
The pediatric service has been brilliant with him the have helped by providing him with chunky cutlery which has helped greatly at meal times. Also he has been to a co-ordination group that is run at the Halliwell children’s Centre in Bolton. The first one in May helped his confidence and really helped him make progress with the issues he has, so when he was invited to attend again I was really pleased.
As the group contains a small number of children who all have similar needs it helps him with his confidence and also allows him to meet children that have similar needs as he has so he doesn't feel isolated.
I would like to say a big thank you to the service and the ladies that provide it and feel that their continued help will help him to achieve his potential.
