"Hysterectomy"

About: Poole General Hospital

I was admitted for a fibroid-related hysterectomy expecting to have a bikini line incision and a long recovery time. On the morning of my operation, the surgeon who admitted me thought it was worth checking first (with an internal camera through the naval) if it would be possible to perform the operation with keyhole surgery instead. My consultant agreed. I'm so grateful - I was in surgery for longer but the recovery time was much, much shorter. All the staff were amazing. I had my own room and I was only in for one night. Actually grateful is an understatement!!! thank you all
