My ENT consultant was a remarkable man. His dedication, his professionalism as well as first class laid back bedside manner helped me get through a 5 hour tricky parotidectomy. He really deserves recognition for his ability to make a patient feel they are truly respected and operates with skill. I have had other ops in Torbay hospital, and have always been treated well and speedily. When I had to have my parotoidectomy and started in surgical admissions unit I was a complete emotional wreck... again staff were amazing, especially one member of staff who gave me so much care that went above and beyond what you expect. I woke in recovery and again, the theatre nurse cared dearly about my needs including my emotional needs and truly took time to understand my mental health problems were causing me anxiety... she went far out to ensure I was treated with respect and dignity. I thank you all for excellent care. Sadly I am on the emergency waiting list for a gynae problem... not sure what wait I have until I am admitted however if the treatment is as before i have no doubt my care will be first class as always.
