My dad was taken to Durham University Hospital at 2.30 am on Tuesday 03 February 2015. He arrived in A & E where there were no beds in the heart monitoring section. He was sent to resuss where he was monitored for a while. He was then put in a small cubicle until there was a bed in ACU. When I arrived there it was mayhem with machines screeching and people seemed to be hurrying all over. He had no tablets given to him during the day whcih would have had an effect on his heart rate probably not helping his condition. The next day things had settled and his treatment was underway. He is still there and so far I have had no notification to say he is coming home today. I understand A&E is sometimes busy but I fail to understand why he was taken to a hospital with chest pain where there was no facility to treat him properly in the correct area of the hospital.
