"1st child December 2014"

About: Southmead Hospital

Having previously suffered a miscarriage and a family history of pre and post natal problems, I can not fault the care of the staff from antenatal clinic to birth and discharge home. I had my baby girl by planned c section in December, we waited from 7am until going to theatre at 3pm but I was willing to wait as 6 emergencies came in - their need far outweighed mine. Lovely team, we played our on cd it was relaxed and I was completely numb from spinal! We had a guess the baby weightg game too - doctor you were way off! Back in recover I was looked after, and baby changed and fed by me and hubby. On the ward I was supported all night by excellent staff helping to change baby and me as couldn't move still numb! All postnatal checks and baby checked we were discharged home by 1340 the next day - so happy to be going home with my bundle of joy! Only recommendation would be longer visiting hours (2-8 is the norm for most hospitals now) as my in laws only had 10mins with us as we did not get up from recovery until 7pm and they were told at reception we were in recovery when we were on Percy Philips. Many thanks to all the staff xxx
