"Worse than a care home"

About: Royal Hospital For Neuro-disability

If you don't like your relative, friend etc,. And want to punish them this is the place to send them. All patience are ginnepigs as this is a teaching focused hospital (if you can call it a hospital). Paitence are left to sit in their own pads until they have burst, which can lead to awful staining of their clothes. Basic needs are not met and patience are left in their beds unchecked for over 6hrs. If you every wondered how bad a nursing home might be, times that by 4 for this place. You only have to ask what other relatives say and the reasons that they are there. It's not just to visit their loved one its checking to make sure they are getting basic care. I over heard one couple say "we're only hear everyday to keep an eye on our son, and as the carers or only carers by name". It's not easy for a lot of the relatives to be at the hospital everyday because of the distance, some mothers and fathers have to trave from as far away as Scotland. And if you don't drive even getting there by publice transport can take several hours for those living on the edge of London. Having our relative in this institute has been awful for us as a family and for our mother. It's heart breaking. She was better off in our local hospital. Do not be fooled thinking that the nurses know what their doing, the HCA haven't even got a clue and are not aware of medical terms. And handover is a joke, with information not being past over or shared with the staff changing shift. If you really hate you relative then send them here, you would get better treatment in prison.
