This is not a review regarding care for me but for my mother. She went into hospital for something we thought non life threatening, we had her taken into hospital for a urinary infection, our Mum was 93 years old. However after some scans we were informed our mother had secondary cancer on her liver. We were unaware she had primary cancer elsewhere as our Mum never complained of anything other than her arthritis in her knee and an uncomfortable ache in her back and which her own GP had put forward a referral for a scan on this area. Our Mam was in Hospital for 2 weeks, she was made comfortable and pain free. The family wanted her back to the care home where she had been living and to the staff who had taken care of her there. We were given all the help we required from all the hospital staff, with care and understanding, privacy and loving. We got her back home due to her family's request Monday 2nd February by 20.15 approx. At 03.05 Tuesday 3rd she passed away whilst I was with her. We could not have asked for better care than what was received on Ward B21, all staff from doctors, all nurses and domestic staff, they were kind, understanding, helpful and loving to us all and particularly to our Mam. Thank you all B21. With much appreciation from the family of Mrs. F I Carroll x
"Amazing - Ward B21"
