I have severe endometriosis, so regular pain is normal for me. On Monday night I was hit with excruciating pain and a fever. I tried to manage it at home all day Tues and Tues night with cocodamol and tramadol but it was not heping. On Wed morning my partner who is a Snr Paramedic persuaded me to attend A&E. I was seen within 15 mins, then sent through to the green area and taken great care of, had a canula put it and they then fast tracked me to the gynae unit, I had a fantastic Dr who was extremely kind, friendly and lat me have as much diginity as possible under these circumstance who took swabs ad did a thorough internal then referred me straight to the ward all within an hour of arrival. I was given a bed in A23 and immediate oramorph and other pain relief to make me me as comfortable as possible and was told by nurse never to sit there in pain, always ask for more if they help they will, and they did. I had a scan on weds afternoon and was diagnosed as having a pocket of fluid in my uterus and a pelvic infection from my endo. The team you have there are second to none with nursing care, they have a brilliant work ethic, are happy, kind and know their stuff. you can tell they are happy with each other as the team works well and the handovers are seamless. Please pass this on to their ward manager, she should be extremely proud of her staff, they made me feel safe and I got better are 6 nights to go home. I'm still recovering, but I just want to say thank you to as many as I can remember, the excellent consultants, the HCA's also, the catering team, the cleaners and most of all to a student nurse who I hope will go far, she was marvelous. Thank you all, you deserve this to be read out to you and know that your nursing care is just top notch and I hope you get some recognition for it. A truly clean, happy and professional ward which is ran so well. I would like the ward managers name to write to her privately to pass on to her team kind regards Lisa Rushby
