"Excellence knowledge and practice of deaf..."

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

My mother attended your dermatology department in the Prestbury Clinic today. She was seen by a doctor and a nurse working with him. My mother was impressed with the service received but was most complementary about their knowledge and practice in relating to her as a deaf person. She stated that they were clear in their communication (she lip reads) and made sure that she had understood what they were trying to communicate. She also commented on the fact that they weren't condescending and how refreshing this was for her. Many thanks to the doctor and his team. Carolyn Atkinson (daughter of Valerie Atkinson)

Dear Ms Atkinson, Thank you very much for sharing this feedback regarding your mother's experience at the Prestbury Clinic. We will certainly pass your comments on to the team there. Best wishes The team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
